This only applies to Windows 10logo-drive

There seem to be many solutions to this problem but for me it was fairly simple – I just had to allow the App through my Firewall.

Here’s how:

  1. Go to Control Panel and View by: Large Icons
  2. Go to Windows Firewall
  3. Click on the Text which says: Allow an App or feature through Windows Firewall
  4. Click on Change Settings
  5. Click on Allow another app…
  6. And Browse to: C:Program Files (x86)GoogleDrivegoogledrivesync

Once that was done it kicked in immediately and asked me to log in – after a few minutes items started to appear in my Google Drive folder.
